Quoting from Wikipedia, For 1968, both the Corvette body and interior were completely redesigned. As before, the car was available in either coupe or convertible models, but coupes had new removable roof panels (T-tops) and a removable rear window. A number of different options were offered and the L89 option was a L71 engine but with significantly lighter aluminum cylinder heads instead of the standard cast iron.
